Whanau Day

Last week we had Whanau Day.  Some of our parents and grandparents came in to see how we do maths in the classroom.  We showed them our maths wall (which Millie led) and then showed them how we used Studyladder, play games and practice knowledge.

Spelling

Today we learnt the rules for adding ing to a word.  These are the rules we found out!
- Drop the e, before adding ing e.g. smile becomes smiling
- If it has a short vowel sound, double the last letter e.g hit becomes hitting
- If it has another long vowel sound (not silent e ninja) you just add ing e.g. play becomes playing


Here is a fun game that Ben and Rico played.  Rico was the winner today!
